Event Recap
Monday Night Raw rolled into Seattle on March 9 with a pretty loaded card, and while not everything hit a home run, there was plenty to chew on as WrestleMania season keeps creeping closer. The night featured a big Intercontinental Championship defense with Penta putting the title on the line against the eccentric El Grande Americano. Americano had some bursts of offense and tried to keep things chaotic, but once Penta got rolling with his speed and crisp strikes the result felt inevitable. The champion shut the door with a brutal Mexican Destroyer to retain and remind everyone why he’s one of the most exciting champions on the roster right now. Elsewhere, the women’s division had to run a marathon in a gauntlet match to determine the next challenger for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The lineup included IYO SKY, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Asuka, and it turned into the kind of long, grinding match where survival mattered more than flash. SKY scored an early elimination with her moonsault, but the field kept shifting until Bayley outlasted the rest of the group to claim the final spot and the title opportunity. Meanwhile, the advertised clash between Oba Femi and Rusev turned into a short but violent showcase for Femi, who powered through Rusev’s offense and flattened him with the Fall From Grace for a quick win. It wasn’t a flawless episode—some of the pacing felt rushed—but Raw still delivered a couple solid matches and a few clear statements about who WWE wants looking dangerous heading toward WrestleMania.

Adam Pearce kicks off the show saying it's time he and Seth Rollins talk about all of the nonsense that has been going on between him and The Vision. He tells Seth to come meet him in the ring. A dozen masked men come out of the crowd and surround the ring. Finally one enters and unmasks. It's Rollins. Pearce makes it clear that if Seth Rollins wants to take on The Vision he needs to get cleared for the ring. Logan Paul and Austin Theory come out and say they plan on ending Seth Rollins tonight. Before they can, Rollin's masked entourage enters the ring. Rollins, re-masked, is able to escape as the masked men take off through the crowd, heading in different directions. Logan and Theory consider a chase but it's futile. LA Knight's music hits and he sprints to the ring to get a piece of The Vision. When the two-on-one looks to go against Knight, the Usos come to his aid. They clear The Vision out of the ring and stand tall.

Summary
This one turned into a long, grinding gauntlet where the winner had to survive a lineup of very different opponents. The match started with rapid eliminations and momentum swings, with each wrestler bringing their own style to the table. Lyra Valkyria showed flashes early before running into the buzzsaw that is IYO SKY’s offense, while Ivy Nile’s power game created a few quick scares. Raquel Rodriguez used her strength advantage to throw people around for a stretch, but the chaos eventually narrowed the field down to the more experienced names. Bayley hung around while the others wore each other down, picking her moments instead of trying to dominate the whole thing. That patience paid off late when she caught Asuka with the Rose Plant, scoring the final pinfall and winning the entire gauntlet. After surviving five opponents in a marathon match, Bayley walked out as the new number-one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Summary
Penta’s first defense of the Intercontinental Championship came against the mysterious and slightly ridiculous “Original” El Grande Americano, and the match played out about how you’d expect once the bell rang. Americano actually held his own early, throwing wild strikes and leaning into the chaos of the moment while Penta worked a faster, more precise lucha-style offense. Penta landed several crisp kicks and a diving attack to the outside that got the crowd going. Americano managed to slow things down with a few power moves, but he never really felt like he had the champion on the ropes for long. The finish came when Penta exploded out of nowhere with a springboard Mexican Destroyer, planting Americano for the three-count and keeping his title in convincing fashion. It wasn’t the most dramatic defense you’ll ever see, but it did exactly what it needed to do: make Penta look like a champion who’s going to be very hard to dethrone.

Summary
This match was short, heavy, and full of big-man violence. Rusev came in swinging with his usual bruising offense, trying to overwhelm Oba Femi early with strikes and power moves. For a moment it looked like he might control the pace, but Femi’s size and strength quickly flipped the script. Once the momentum shifted, the match became a showcase for the rising powerhouse. Femi shrugged off Rusev’s offense, powered through a few stiff shots, and started throwing the bigger man around with surprising ease. The end came quickly when Femi blasted Rusev with his Fall From Grace finisher and scored the decisive pin in just over three minutes. It was more of a statement than a classic match, but that seemed to be the point—WWE clearly wanted Femi to look like a wrecking ball, and Rusev ended up being the unfortunate demonstration.

Segment recap
Punk builds towards what sounds like is going to be an apology, highlighting his respect for Jimmy and many of the elder Bloodline members. But then he doubles down on what a trash person he thinks Roman is. Jey reiterates, this isn't a Roman. It's about Punk saying I'm sorry. The crowd is on the Usos' side. They chant loudly "Say you're sorry!" -- Punk says he is sorry...sorry Roman is such an awful cousin that he treated Jimmy and Jey so poorly, for so long, and never stood in the ring and said he was sorry to them. He points out it's odd the Usos have never demanded an apology from Roman. This set the Usos off, and ends with Jimmy dropping Punk with a punch to the head. Punk smiles from the mat. He hit a nerve. The Usos leave and we roll credits.
