Event Preview
Monday Night Raw rolls into the Road to WrestleMania with a loaded lineup for the March 16, 2025 episode, and WWE isn’t exactly being subtle about stacking the show with big names and championship matches. The headline attraction is CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, which feels like the kind of clash you’d normally expect to see headlining a major pay-per-view rather than a random Monday night. Punk and Reigns have been circling each other for weeks, and putting the title on the line guarantees the tension won’t stay verbal for long. Another massive match scheduled is Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship, a matchup that carries plenty of history and the constant threat of Orton turning things violent without much warning. With those two title matches alone, Raw already looks more eventful than a typical weekly episode. The women’s division also gets a major spotlight as Rhea Ripley defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill, which has the potential to turn into a straight-up power fight between two of the most physically dominant athletes on the roster. Ripley has handled nearly every challenger thrown her way, but Cargill is one of the few who can realistically match her strength and presence. On top of the title matches, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are both advertised to appear, which almost guarantees something chaotic will break out somewhere along the way. Raw episodes this time of year can sometimes feel like a lot of talking stretched across three hours, but with this many top names scheduled and championships on the line, this one at least looks like it could turn into a loud, messy, and very physical night. And honestly, that’s usually when Raw is at its most fun.

Summary
The match between Original El Grande Americano (OG) and El Grande Americano featured fast-paced, high-flying action from the start, including OG hitting a rolling Liger Kick. OG regained momentum with a Belly-to-Belly suplex that sent Americano over the ropes onto Rayo and Bravo, taking out the interference. OG applied an Ankle Lock, but distractions continued as Bravo tried to intervene, and Rayo slipped a metal plate into Americano’s mask. Americano attempted a diving head-butt but accidentally knocked himself out, allowing OG to capitalize and secure the win. Overall, it was a chaotic but entertaining match that showcased both competitors’ chemistry and set the stage for a potential mask vs. mask showdown.

Penta defended the Intercontinental Championship against Dragon Lee in a fast-paced match that lived up to expectations from two of the most explosive luchadors in WWE. Dragon Lee came out aggressive, hitting an early hurricanrana and several high-impact kicks, while Penta answered with superkicks, a double stomp, and a Penta Driver that Lee managed to kick out of. The action spilled to the outside with Lee launching a corkscrew suicide dive and later connecting with Operation Dragon, but Penta refused to stay down. The closing stretch turned into a rapid exchange of counters until Penta finally ducked a running elbow, hit the ropes, and nailed the Mexican Destroyer. That was enough to put Dragon Lee away and give Penta a clean, decisive title defense.

Nattie defeated Maxxine Dupri in a competitive match that started with technical chain wrestling before picking up intensity. Dupri gained momentum with a Fisherman’s Suplex and a step-up leg drop to the back of Nattie’s head, briefly taking control of the match. Nattie fought back by targeting Dupri’s leg and eventually dropped her with a hard discus lariat after Dupri missed a crossbody from the top rope. From there, Nattie wasted little time locking in the Sharpshooter in the center of the ring. Dupri had nowhere to go and tapped out, giving Nattie a clear submission victory.

Summary
Stephanie Vaquer defeated Raquel Rodriguez in a physical match that mixed power offense with quick counters. Rodriguez controlled the early portion, using her strength to toss Vaquer around the ring and slow the pace, but Vaquer fought back with kicks, a Dragon Screw, and a Meteora to regain momentum. The match got chaotic when Liv Morgan tried to distract Vaquer at ringside, only for Iyo Sky to appear and shut down the interference before Rodriguez launched Sky over the announce table. Vaquer then wiped out both Rodriguez and Morgan with a dive to the outside before the action returned to the ring. Rodriguez nearly ended things with a spinning slam and Tejana Bomb, but Vaquer slipped out of danger with a quick roll-up to steal the victory.

Segment recap
Roman Reigns and CM Punk closed the show with a heated in-ring confrontation that quickly turned personal. Reigns mocked Punk for questioning who the real Tribal Chief is and even took a jab at Punk by comparing him unfavorably to his wife, AJ Lee, saying she’s the bigger star. Punk fired back by saying he’s already in Reigns’ head and promised to drop him with a GTS at WrestleMania, while also calling him out for ducking him the previous week. Reigns dismissed Punk as delusional and claimed he’s better than him in every way, which finally pushed Punk over the edge. When Reigns called him “old,” Punk responded by decking him with a punch, ending the tense promo battle with the two clearly ready to fight.
