Event Recap
The July 4 SmackDown from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh was a fun mix of Night of Champions fallout and Independence‑Day energy, full of returning stars, surprise pairings, and plenty of chaos inside and outside the ring. The show opened with Drew McIntyre making a shocking return, interrupting a tense Cody Rhodes‑Randy Orton confrontation, only to get clipped by an RKO from Orton, reminding everyone that the Viper still has venom despite recent lulls. In the women’s division, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair pulled off a scrappy victory in a triple‑threat tag match over B‑Fab & Michin and The Secret Hervice, earning their spot in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Fatal 4‑Way at Evolution thanks to a clever finish that felt earned. The Wyatt Sicks made a big statement in an eight‑man tag, dismantling Montez Ford, Johnny Gargano, Chris Sabin, and Berto with their methodical aggression, signaling they’re serious contenders for the Tag Team Championships. Andrade and Rey Fenix lit up the tag scene with a high‑tempo win over Axiom & Nathan Frazer, giving fans plenty of fast-paced aerial offense to cheer. In a backstage twist, Tiffany Stratton dropped jaws by announcing Trish Stratus as her challenger for Evolution, injecting star power into the Women’s Title picture. Between shocking returns, chaotic tag matches, and hard-charging victories, this SmackDown captured that lively, unpredictable holiday vibe — fun, sometimes messy, but very much a night that kept the crowd on their feet.

No. 1 Contender
Summary
This triple threat tag was the first real bout of the night and it delivered enough action to feel worth the opening slot. Charlotte and Alexa didn’t exactly gel smoothly — Charlotte kept giving Bliss the side‑eye and even only technically “tagged” her partner by patting her on the head — but once Bliss was legal she went right to work. B‑Fab and Michin brought the power, with several stiff strikes that kept both Charlotte and Bliss on their toes, and Secret Hervice threw their unique chaos into the mix with some solid tandem offense. In the end, Charlotte inadvertently set up Bliss for the pin by knocking Alba Fyre off balance, and Bliss hit Twisted Bliss to seal the win. A fun, fast‑paced qualifier that established Bliss/Flair as contenders even if their teamwork was… chaotic at best.
The Wyatt Sicks

Summary
This one was all about the Wyatt Sicks’ brute force and intimidation. The babyface combo tried their best — Sabin and Gargano hit some classic high‑energy maneuvers, and Ford brought that explosive speed that usually shifts momentum — but the Sicks were relentless. They isolated each opponent, landed heavy strikes, and dominated the majority of the exchanges. The eventual finish saw Erick Rowan pin Sabin after a brutal sequence that left DIY and Ford testing their chops against the Sicks’ size and aggression. Not the most technical affair, but it got the point across: the Wyatt Sicks are a menace and can steamroll through a tag scenario if you’re not careful.
Summary
This was a breath of fresh air after the heavyweight slug‑fest that preceded it. Andrade and Fenix brought an exciting mix of lucha flair and precise teamwork, and the crowd ate it up. Fenix was especially fun to watch — his dives and fast transitions kept Axiom and Frazer on their heels, while Andrade sprinkled in his signature strikes and mat savvy to keep things grounded. Axiom and Frazer had their moments, even isolating Fenix to try and grind the tempo down, but once Fenix hit that spectacular outside dive it opened the door. Andrade followed with The Message on Frazer for the clean pin. The crowd even tossed a few “This is awesome!” chants in there — deservedly so.

Summary
Battle of the big men energy! Fatu and Uso were surprisingly synchronized early, with Uso’s veteran ring craft playing off Fatu’s raw power, while Sikoa and Mateo tried to assert dominance with hard chops and shoulders. The match had a rough‑and‑tumble feel, constantly spilling outside and involving chain wrestling that wasn’t always crisp but felt physical. Eventually Fatu ground down Sikoa and picked up the pin for his team, giving them a morale‑boosting win. Post‑match chaos erupted with Tala Tonga and Tonga Loa crashing the ring and delivering triple powerbombs through the announce table, making it clear that the Bloodline faction still has more bite than bark at times.
