Event Recap
Friday night in Portland’s Moda Center delivered a SmackDown that felt like a warm-up lap for something bigger — and not just because Royal Rumble buzz is already all over the place. Paul Heyman opened the show with a “look at me” moment, telling Cody Rhodes that Roman Reigns is in fact entering the 2025 Royal Rumble and wants his title back — cue Cody sprinting up the aisle after Kevin Owens and kicking off another wild brawl.
The in-ring action started strong. Chelsea Green managed to fend off a feisty Michin to retain the Women’s United States Title in a fun little throw-down that didn’t overstay its welcome. Tag teams weren’t safe from the chaos either — Los Garza snagged a win over Pretty Deadly thanks to some well-timed interference, reminding fans the tag division is still bonkers.
The Shinsuke Nakamura vs. LA Knight matchup was an almost-title change, capped off with The Bloodline crashing the party and turning it into hot mess territory — because of course they did.
The standout of the night was the brutal Fatal 4-Way for the next Women’s Title shot. Four big names, buckets of elbows and knees, and Bayley cashing in with a Rose Plant on Naomi to earn her challenge.
Unfortunately, the main event tag — Cody & Jimmy Uso vs. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga — went the Bloodline’s way, with Fatu’s moonsault on Uso sealing the deal and leaving Cody to continue his unresolved beef with Owens instead of a clean finish.
So yeah, it wasn’t perfect — but it was exactly the kind of chaotic, hype-building SmackDown that gets people talking (and griping) all weekend
