Event Recap
Friday’s SmackDown from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto served up that classic “last stop before Elimination Chamber” energy — hype, qualifiers, and tension building for tomorrow’s big show. The women kicked things off with Tiffany Stratton facing Chelsea Green in an impromptu match, but things devolved into chaos when Nia Jax and Candice LeRae crashed the ring and turned it into an all-out brawl, forcing a disqualification and leaving everyone in the ring looking rough and ready for pay-per-view. On the contenders front, Jacob Fatu crashed through Andrade with a nasty moonsault to earn his spot in the United States Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament, reminding folks that the big man still has a mean streak. LA Knight kept his momentum rolling by out-slugging Santos Escobar to advance in that same tourney, and after a triple-threat twist involving Fatu, Carmelo Hayes, and Knight, LA Knight emerged as the official No. 1 contender for the U.S. Title. The tag scene was a mess — a scheduled Street Profits vs. Los Garza bout never properly got begun as #DIY, Motor City Machine Guns, and Pretty Deadly all shoved and shoved until it basically collapsed into a no-contest. Later, a six-woman tag saw Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez get the win over Bayley, Bianca Belair & Naomi in a fun mid-card brawl that let those rising ladies chew up some minutes. And of course the show ended with some heat — The Rock closed the night with a final mind game for Cody Rhodes, personally tantalizing Cody one last time before their Elimination Chamber clash, making sure everyone’s talking about their match heading into tomorrow. It wasn’t perfect — a couple of matches dissolved into mayhem — but SmackDown delivered enough qualifiers and memorable moments to get Toronto chanting and the Elimination Chamber buzz cranked up loud.

Summary
Tiffany Stratton & Trish Stratus vs. Chelsea Green & Piper Niven – Tag Team Match (No Contest) This one was booked as a fun tag battle, but it quickly blew up into something much more chaotic. Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus teamed up to face Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, and early on it had good energy with quick tags, strikes, and Stratton showing off her athletic chops. Green and Niven even had momentum moments, with Green landing some sharp chops and Niven crashing in with big strikes. But just when it looked like we were settling into a clean tag — Candice LeRae stormed in and sucker-punched Stratton, then Nia Jax ran in and absolutely leveled Stratus and Stratton with power moves. The referee had no choice but to call it a no contest, leaving the ring a pile-up mess and everyone on edge going into Elimination Chamber weekend.

Summary
acob Fatu vs. Andrade – United States Championship No. 1 Contender Qualifying Match In a straight-up qualifier with a U.S. Title opportunity on the line, Jacob Fatu and Andrade mixed contrasting styles — Fatu’s bruiser power versus Andrade’s speed and ring craft. Andrade came in crisp with dropkicks, counters, and well-timed strikes that kept Fatu from getting comfortable, and for a minute it felt like a real back-and-forth match instead of a squash. But once Fatu caught Andrade in a hard-impact sequence, he neutralized the flashy offense and hit a brutal splash for the clean pinfall. Fatu looked every bit like a threat in the contender picture, and him walking out as the winner gave this qualifier some real teeth heading into the bigger matches ahead

Summary
Carmelo Hayes squared off with beast-mode Braun Strowman in a match that was over before most fans could catch their breath. Strowman dominated early with brute strength — tossing Hayes around and trying to set up for big moves — but chaos ruined the flow when Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga interfered at ringside. In classic “Hayes ingenuity,” he used a chair when the ref wasn’t looking and made it look like Strowman used it on him, forcing the disqualification and sending Hayes into the next round. Technically, Hayes advanced, but it was the kind of finish that makes you go ugh and wow at the same time — frustrating logic, but effective TV.

Summary
In a rollicking six-woman tag, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez teamed up to face Bayley, Bianca Belair, and Naomi, and fans got a fun mix of athletic sequences and heat spots. Bayley and Belair started hot with quick offense, including a springboard bulldog and a handspring moonsault, but Perez kept tagging herself in expertly and eventually hit her signature Pop Rox on Bayley for the three-count. Perez looked sharp, Morgan and Rodriguez landed some big moments too, and it all unfolded at a good clip. The only sour note: right after the win, Alexa Bliss ambushed Perez with a Sister Abigail, reminding everyone that even victories come with a side of trouble.

Summary
The main event triple threat had LA Knight, Carmelo Hayes, and Jacob Fatu all gunning for a shot at Shinsuke Nakamura’s United States Championship, and this one was a proper slugfest. Knight went right after Fatu, Hayes kept hitting sudden strikes, and Fatu’s power was on full display with stomps and elevated moonsaults. Everybody had almost-there moments — Hayes hit Nothing But Net, Fatu nearly finished both guys, and Knight was slammed into the announce desk — but Knight found the opening when both opponents were incapacitated and stole the pinfall on Hayes for the win. It wasn’t the cleanest finish in TV history, but it was chaotic in a fun way and gave Knight a decisive claim to the No. 1 contender spot.
