Event Recap
Friday night’s WWE SmackDown from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado served as the last stop before Survivor Series: WarGames, and the show delivered a mix of intense team combat, meaningful tournament matches and a couple of segments that kept fans talking into the weekend. The highlight was the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, where the powerhouse MFT squad used size, strength and teamwork to grind down Team Sami Zayn — which included the likes of Zayn, Rey Fénix, Shinsuke Nakamura and the Motor City Machine Guns — before Solo Sikoa emerged as the sole survivor with a Samoan Spike finish. That win was immediately undercut when Uncle Howdy attacked Solo with Sister Abigail after the bell, setting up intrigue right into the pay‑per‑view. The quarterfinal rounds of the “Last Time Is Now” Tournament kept the bracket moving as Jey Uso topped Rusev and LA Knight scored a clean pin over The Miz, putting them both closer to potentially facing John Cena in his farewell match. In the women’s division, Charlotte Flair beat Asuka in a WarGames advantage match, giving her team a boost heading into the big Saturday. Mid‑show, Chelsea Green’s championship celebration was crashed by Jade Cargill, giving the women’s title picture even more heat. All in all, the episode struck the right balance of athletic matches and storyline moments to build real anticipation for Survivor Series weekend.

Summary
This tournament quarterfinal was a solid, hard‑hitting affair that leaned into each man’s strengths. Rusev came out with heavy shoulder tackles and that slow‑burn brand of aggression, but Jey Uso kept finding counters and quick bursts of offense that kept him in the match. Uso hit a couple of explosive Samoan Drops and followed up with his signature splash to finally pin Rusev and advance in the tournament toward John Cena’s farewell match. It wasn’t overly dramatic, but it was the right kind of solid quarterfinal match to keep the bracket moving.

Summary
LA Knight and The Miz locked horns in the second quarterfinal on this card, and this was the sort of match that reminded you why Knight’s presence still feels big on SmackDown. Miz tried his usual blend of clutch reversals and sneaky strikes, but Knight countered with those sharp strikes and a heavy spinebuster that put Miz on his heels. Knight ended it with a BFT for the clean pinfall to move on in the tournament, giving fans a decisive win in an otherwise mixed‑bag Friday night.

Summary
In this matchup that mattered for WarGames positioning, Charlotte Flair faced Asuka in a competitive contest where both women brought crisp offense and veteran savvy. Asuka’s striking and deceptive counters kept Flair from gaining total control early, but Flair’s combination of chops and methodical pacing eventually allowed her to ground Asuka and hit Natural Selection for the win. That victory gave Flair’s team the WarGames advantage, which should theoretically matter heading into the big Saturday pay‑per‑view.

Summary
The big elimination match on this go‑home show for Survivor Series: WarGames was a proper crowd‑pleaser with plenty of movement and physics, even if it was a classic “repeat but bigger” version of a big team feud. Team Sami Zayn — consisting of Sami, Rey Fénix, Shinsuke Nakamura and the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) — brought a mix of styles and weathered a lot of heavy offense. MFT (Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Talla Tonga) leaned on power and coordinated strikes throughout, isolating opponents and showcasing a rugged brand of teamwork. The eliminations happened at a steady clip, and it eventually came down to Solo Sikoa standing tall as the sole survivor after putting away Zayn with a Samoan Spike for the pin. Post‑match chaos came when Uncle Howdy ambushed Solo with the Sister Abigail, adding more heat right into Survivor Series weekend.
