WrestleMania 42 Predictions!

Saturday Match Card
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton (with Pat McAfee)
Dillster: Randy is due for a title Reign. He’s a legend and has been underutilized through the last year with us saying goodbye to Cena…his time is now. He brings a freshness to the title scene and it’s needed.
Kayfabe King: I’ll be rooting for Cody Rhodes in this one, but my gut says Orton is walking out with #15. Just hoping the potential celebrity shenanigans don’t sour what should otherwise be a great match.
KM Punk: I hear voices in my head and they talk to me and tell me Randy Orton is going to walk out night one as our new Undisputed WWE Champion.
Women's World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
Dillster: I got Liv in this one. She was due for a big push and then got injured. Stephanie’s reign has been good but there is only one Liv Morgan and she’s a star!
Kayfabe King: Does Liv win it in her first attempt or is the more interesting story Liv chasing the title to SummerSlam? I think Vaquer retains because Judgment Day continues to implode (insert Raquel Rodrigues and/or Roxanne Perez) and we continue to build this one.
KM Punk: Liv Morgan all the way. Just so long as she’s healthy after that massive goose egg Vaquer gave her on Monday Night doesn’t keep her on concussion protocols too long.
Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
Dillster: Neither guy can afford to lose right now and both should be major players moving forward. I think Bronn interferes and gives Gunther the match. This sets up Bron vs Seth and then gives a favor that Paul Heyman owes Gunther…what is that favor? It’s setting up a retirement match with Bronn Breakker in Minnesota at SummerSlam!
Kayfabe King: Breakker returns and costs Seth the match. Gunther wins.
KM Punk: I wish I could say Seth, but Gunther has this one in the bag. I’m hoping for some outside interference from Bron Breakker to make it really interesting.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch
Dillster: It’s got to be Becky, another clean win by AJ buries the star that is Becky.
Kayfabe King: AJ Lee is a part-timer, so I don’t see her holding the belt past Mania. Becky wins. And look, as great as Becky’s IC run has been, I’m ready for this title to get a refresh. Give us something new and interesting this summer.
KM Punk: I have a hard time believing AJ Lee goes over on Big Time Becks again. Becky Lynch becomes a three time IC Champ at Wrestlemania. The real question though is who takes it from her and when?
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Nia Jax & Lash Legend (c) vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. The Bella Twins
Dillster: I got Charlotte and Alea winning this one. Their on screen chemistry and ring skills are better than anyone in the group and I don’t think we are ready to see them split and go the single route…yet.
Kayfabe King: This one feels like a roll of the dice. Could see it going so many ways, but think they might put it on The Bellas. Don’t love it, personally, but hopefully it’s a short reign.
KM Punk: My heart says Charlotte Fair and Alexa Bliss but my head says Nia Jax and Lash Legend are going to assert their dominance and come out the victors
Unsanctioned Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre
Dillster: Drew had his shot with the title and it was entertaining. Jacob has been close to that scene but hasn’t broken through. A win at Mania against Drew puts him in that conversation to stay. I think it happens in a match like this.
Kayfabe King: How many losses can Drew take and remain in the main event scene? We’ll find out, because Fatu is winning this one and will be a main eventer going forward.
KM Punk: Fatu is going to get down and dirty for the win. Is this the match that opens the door for him to pursue a world championship
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Logan Paul, Austin Theory & IShowSpeed vs. The Usos & LA Knight
Dillster: I got the Uso’s and Knight coming out on top especially since Austin Theory beat LA Night on Monday Night Raw. I think they get a lot of eyes on them with IShowSpeed being in it but I think he continues to play the goofy how did I end up here role and takes the L.
Kayfabe King: Let’s be real, The Vision are basically wrestling with one arm tied behind their backs in this one. It should be a no-brainer, which is exactly why The Vision & Speed defy all odds and somehow come out on top. Expect shenanigans in this one.
KM Punk: I don’t think IShowSpeed makes the team better, but I do think it’s likely that the podcast team does something fun to open the show and comes out with the W
Sunday Match Card
World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Dillster: I think Roman wins this and keeps the belt a while. I think we eventually get a feud with Jey for a SummerSlam Title Match.
Kayfabe King: I think they are cooking up a run for Roman Reigns. Tribal Chief for the win.
KM Punk: He’s the best in the world for a reason, so I’m picking KM…I mean CM Punk.
WWE Women's Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
Dillster: Rhea wins as it should be. No question at all about this, keeping the belt on Jade would be terrible booking. Her title run has been trash…not sure if it’s her to blame or front office…probably a mix of both. She needs a refresh and get your top female star back on top!
Kayfabe King: Please, please, please. Take the belt off Jade and put it on Rhea. This title needs a refresh.
KM Punk: Jade looks amazing, but I’ve been so underwhelmed with her championship run. Adding Michin and B-Fab has done nothing to help. It’s Rhea Ripley’s time to sit atop the mountain, and hopefully for a very long time.
"The Demon" Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio
Dillster: Finn comes away with the win catapulting him back into single action on his own.
Kayfabe King: Both guys need the win. Hard to see this being a clean finish, but I think Dirty Dom takes the win.
KM Punk: Finn Bálor walks away with the win unless we see some of the usual shenanigans from Dirty Dom.
United States Championship Match: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams
Dillster: Mr. Lemon Pepper Stepper takes the win. Trick is a star and even as a heel he is beloved. Trick is made to have gold around his waist and rekindling a stellar NXT feud with Carmelo Hayes is just what the wrestling community wants!
Kayfabe King: The only way Sami getting the title off Melo before Mania makes any sense, is if Trick wins it and feuds with Melo in the aftermath. Trick Williams with the win.
KM Punk: Whoop that Trick. Sami is and will always be a transitional champ. Trick Williams however is the total package and is why I’m choosing him to win on Sunday
Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
Dillster: Inject this feud into my veins! It’s must-see TV and I don’t think it should end in one match. My heart wants Brock to win this first one and Oba to win the next two. However, I think Oba gets the win and we move towards a Gunther VS Brock SummerSlam retirement match
Kayfabe King: The fact that Brock hasn’t stood tall over Oba in this build up makes me nervous, but I’m hoping they catapult The Ruler to stardom with a squash of The Beast. Consider it a passing of the torch because Oba isn’t just the future, he’s the now. Give me OBA FEMI!
KM Punk: This might be the non main-event match i’m most excited for. Two behemoths battling for dominance. I’m rooting for Oba Femi to begin his rule of the main roster with a huge win on Sunday.
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Penta (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio
Dillster: This match is created to show the greatness of Penta. He deserves this big moment and he will deliver. He’s got great talent to work with…I truly think Penta will be holding that belt all the way to SummerSlam and beyond.
Kayfabe King: Because I have Oba and Trick winning, I just don’t think this NXT class is going 3-for-3. Je’Von’s time will come, but this match is primed to be a spectacle and I think it’s a showcase for Penta–he retains.
KM Punk: Je’Von Evan and the Intercontinental Championship go together like peanut butter and jelly. I can’t wait to see what an OG Cutter looks like from the top of a ladder. Everyone in this match is solid but my money is on the young OG for the win.
