Event Recap
The road to WrestleMania kept getting messier on the March 22, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown, and honestly that’s when this show tends to be at its most entertaining. Things kicked off with Randy Orton shutting down Kevin Owens’ attempt at an apology and any talk of teaming up. Orton made it crystal clear he’d rather punt Owens’ head into the cheap seats at WrestleMania than shake his hand, which felt a lot more on brand for The Viper. In the ring, Damian Priest and Jimmy Uso picked up a solid tag win over Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura after Priest planted Nakamura with South of Heaven, but McIntyre immediately wrecked the mood by jumping Priest and blasting him with a Claymore after the bell. Braun Strowman technically beat Jacob Fatu by disqualification when Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga got involved, which handed Strowman a United States Title opportunity against LA Knight—though the real takeaway was how quickly things spiraled into a three-on-one beatdown before Knight ran in to even the odds. Piper Niven also snagged a win over Zelina Vega thanks to interference from Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre, while Liv Morgan scored a very shady victory over Jade Cargill after Naomi smashed Cargill with a title belt and then kept the beating going afterward. The Street Profits kept their momentum rolling with a win over Los Garza during their tag title celebration. The night closed with chaos when Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk all tried to out-talk each other before doing what wrestlers do best—throwing hands everywhere while security desperately tried to stop it. It wasn’t the most polished episode, but between the brawls and the WrestleMania tension boiling over, it was the kind of messy fun SmackDown sometimes does best

Summary
This one got moving before the bell even rang, with Damian Priest jumping Drew McIntyre during his entrance and setting the tone for a pretty heated tag match. Once things officially started, McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura slowed things down and worked Jimmy Uso over for a while, cutting off the ring and keeping Priest stuck on the apron. Uso eventually created an opening with a Samoan Drop that left both teams down and allowed Priest to finally get the hot tag. From there Priest cleaned house, knocking McIntyre off the apron and focusing on Nakamura. The finish came when Jimmy wiped out McIntyre on the floor, distracting Nakamura just long enough for Priest to plant him with South of Heaven and score the pin. McIntyre didn’t take the loss well at all, jumping Priest after the match and blasting him with a Claymore just to make sure everyone remembered he wasn’t in a forgiving mood.

Summary
This match was less about finesse and more about two very large men trying to knock each other into next week. Jacob Fatu came out aggressive and spent the early part of the match throwing heavy strikes and tossing Strowman around whenever he could. Strowman answered with his usual freight-train offense, including a big running attack around the ringside area that got the crowd fired up. The match was building into a solid power fight when things fell apart. Members of the Bloodline got involved at ringside and interfered, bringing the match to a halt and giving Strowman the win by disqualification. It wasn’t exactly the clean finish fans probably wanted, but the ruling meant Strowman earned a future shot at the United States Championship, while the post-match chaos made it clear the Bloodline isn’t letting anyone fight their guy without getting involved

Summary
Zelina Vega came into this match knowing she’d likely have to deal with outside distractions, and unfortunately that’s exactly what happened. Piper Niven had Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre at ringside, and the two made sure Vega never had a completely fair situation. Still, Vega put together a strong showing, using her speed to dodge Niven’s power offense and nearly stealing the win with a couple of quick near falls during a late comeback. Vega even knocked the interfering partners off the apron at one point, but the effort left her open for just a second too long. Niven capitalized by crashing down with a huge crossbody and keeping Vega down for the three count. It was a solid effort from Vega, but trying to beat Niven while also keeping an eye on two extra opponents was always going to be an uphill fight.

Summary
This match had a lot of curiosity around it because Jade Cargill had been presented as almost unstoppable. For most of the match she looked exactly like that, overpowering Liv Morgan and tossing her around with impressive strength. Morgan relied on quick attacks and opportunistic strikes, trying to stay out of range of Cargill’s bigger moves. The match turned when Naomi appeared at ringside and smashed Cargill with a championship belt while the referee wasn’t looking. Morgan wasted zero time capitalizing, hitting Oblivion and pinning Cargill for the shocking win. It was a sneaky finish, but that’s pretty much Liv Morgan’s specialty. The interference protected Cargill from looking weak while still handing her a rare loss, though it definitely left the crowd buzzing about the cheap shot that set it up. The Street Profits vs. Los Garza (Angel & Berto) After celebrating their tag team title win earlier in the night, The Street Profits quickly found themselves defending their pride against Los Garza in a non-title match. Angel and Berto came out determined to spoil the celebration and worked over Montez Ford early with quick tags and double-team offense. Ford eventually escaped long enough to tag Angelo Dawkins, who brought the energy back to his team with a flurry of offense and a big dive that wiped out multiple opponents on the floor. The finish was classic Profits: chaos at ringside followed by Ford flying through the air with the Seven-Star Frog Splash for the pinfall victory. It was a lively tag match that kept the crowd engaged, even if it mostly served as a reminder that the Profits are riding a lot of momentum right now.
