April 18, 2025 — Las Vegas Nevada
Event Recap
The April 18, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown served as the final stop before WrestleMania 41, and the Las Vegas crowd brought the kind of loud energy you’d expect when the biggest weekend of the year is about to start. The show leaned heavily on big personalities getting in each other’s faces, highlighted by Cody Rhodes and John Cena coming face-to-face just days before their Undisputed WWE Championship match. Things escalated quickly, and Rhodes ended the confrontation the wrestling way—by dropping Cena and leaving him laid out in the ring while the crowd roared. It wasn’t subtle, but wrestling rarely is, and it definitely sent a clear message heading into their title showdown. The in-ring action kept the pace moving all night. LA Knight picked up a hard-fought win over Solo Sikoa, fighting through the usual distractions before finally landing the BFT to put Solo away. The tag division also got a spotlight when The Street Profits defended the WWE Tag Team Championships against Motor City Machine Guns in a fast-paced match that featured plenty of counters and aerial moments before the champions managed to hang onto the belts. The annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal brought the usual chaos of bodies flying over the top rope, with Carmelo Hayes ultimately outlasting Andrade in the final moments to claim the trophy. Meanwhile, the crowd got a dose of high-flying action when Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, and Dragon Lee teamed up to defeat Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers in a lively six-man tag. It felt exactly like a WrestleMania go-home SmackDown—some strong matches, a lot of shouting, and just enough chaos to remind everyone that the real fights are about to happen.

No Contest
The Motor City Machine Guns
Summary
The Street Profits (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns – WWE Tag Team Championship This tag title match had all the ingredients for a fast-paced classic. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins came out with plenty of energy, while Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin leaned on experience and smooth tag teamwork. The match featured constant momentum shifts, with both teams landing big double-team attacks and near falls. Ford brought the aerial offense the crowd expected, while Dawkins handled the heavier exchanges with Sabin and Shelley. Just as things were heating up and it looked like the match was heading toward a clear finish, everything broke down. Outside chaos spilled into the ring and the match ultimately had to be stopped, resulting in a no contest before a definitive winner could be crowned. It was frustrating in a way—fans were clearly enjoying the match—but the action before the stoppage was energetic and competitive.

Summary
Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green delivered a shorter match, but it still had some entertaining moments. Green tried to use her usual strategy of distractions and sneaky tactics early, attempting to frustrate Vega and throw her off rhythm. Vega responded by relying on speed and sharp counters, slipping out of several of Green’s attempts to control the pace. Once Vega built some momentum, she strung together a quick series of strikes and high-impact moves that put Green on the defensive. The closing stretch happened quickly, with Vega capitalizing on the opening she created and securing the pinfall victory. It wasn’t a marathon match, but Vega looked confident and decisive, which is exactly what you want when someone gets a clean win on a crowded WrestleMania weekend show.

American Made
Summary
This was easily one of the smoother matches on the card, with the lucha trio bringing speed and constant motion from the start. Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, and Dragon Lee kept things fast with quick tags, dives, and layered offense that kept American Made from settling in. Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers tried to counter with strength and teamwork, grounding the action whenever they could, but they struggled to keep up once the pace picked up. The finish came after a flurry of high-impact offense from the lucha side, leading to a clean victory that gave the crowd something definitive after a night filled with interruptions.
